Ring of Kerry Day Tour by Train

- When your train leaves Heuston Rail Station it will travel in a south westerly direction heading for Kerry. Venture through the suburbs of Dublin then through the countryside of Kildare. Then travel through passed the famous racecourse, the Curragh. You will continue through Portlaoise, Thurles, Charleville and arrive then at Mallow Station where there is a change of trains before Killarney. The host will escort you the whole way so no need to worry.
- When you arrive to Killarney Station you will board the coach for the tour of the magnificent Ring of Kerry.
- During the excursion of the Ring of Kerry there are plenty of stops along the way for morning tea, lunch and a stop for photo's. You will be able to see one of Ireland's highest mountain, Carrauntouhil. One of the stops include the Kerry Bog Village Museum where visitors can get insight into what life was like in rural Ireland in the 18th century.
- Depending on the weather when you arrive in Waterville you may be able to see Skellig Islands and this is where Star Wars 'The Force Awakens' was filmed there. Plenty of photo stops will be made and a final stop at the village of Sneem.
- The tour will circle the fabulous MacGillycuddy Reeks and runs through its many passes and valleys along the shores of Dingle and Kenmare Bay.
- You will not forget the picturesque villages like Glenbeigh, Waterville and Sneem. You will return through Ladies View and through the Oakwoods of Killarney's magnificent National Park.
- At the end of the tour will be brought back to where you began the tour at Killarney Rail Station.
- At 5:35pm the train departs Killarney and heads for Dublin and there will be a change of train at Mallow. You will arrive into Dublin Heuston at 9:00pm that night.

Depart from Heuston Train Station at 07:00 and head to the West of Ireland on your reserved train seats.

Travel through the suburbs of Dublin then through the gorgeous countryside of Kildare then venture through the Curragh, home to the famous racecourse.

You will change trains at Limerick Junction which will then be bound for Limerick and you will be fully escorted from Dublin to Limerick by your tour host.

When you arrive to Limerick you will get on the Railtours Ireland coach where you will pass various Gaelic and Rugby pitches but the most famous one would be Thomond Park, home to Munster Rugby team.

Once the short city tour is done you travel to Bunratty Castle and Folk Park and here you have time to explore to take pictures and explore the folk park.

Once you are finish at Bunratty Castle then you head for Co. Clare where there is a lunch stop at O'Connor's Pub in Doolin before heading to the infamous Cliffs of Moher.

There is plenty of time to visit the Cliff of Moher and your host will advise you of the time for departing.

Then when back on the coach, you head on the coast road while on the way to Galway - along with some time to take photos of the rocky landscape known as The Burren.

After passing Black Head and some little villages you will then be on the main road to Galway.

There will be some free time in Galway where you can explore the streets around Eyre Square or grab something to eat before heading back to Dublin.

You will depart Galway at by train and return to Dublin on a different route (via Athenry, Tullamore & Athlone).

Arrive back in Heuston at 21:45.

Stop 2. O'Connell Street/Abbey Street – Here you can see the statue of Daniel O’Connell,
who gained Catholic Emancipation for Ireland in 1829 and managed to overthrow the penal
laws which denied many rights for Catholics in Ireland.

Stop 3. Nassau Street (corner of Dawson Street) – Explore the Book of Kells
at Trinity College which dates back to 800 A.D. The Book of Kells contains
and illustrates the four gospels of the New Testament.

Stop 4. Nassau Street – Take a visit to the National Library and Museum, or the
wonderful Archeology Museum, both of which are open freely to the public.

Stop 5. Merrion Square – Here you can visit the National Gallery which is home to
some of the world’s finest art.

Stop 6. Merrion Street – Leinster House, the location of the Dáil (Irish House of
Parliament) is well worth a visit. The Natural/ History Museum is also located beside it.

Stop 7. St Stephens Green (temporarily moved to top of Dawson Street) – St Stephens
Green is a city centre public park that dates back to 1664. Originally it was designed for
the local residents that resided in the nearby Georgian townhouses but was opened to
the public in 1880. You can also visit The Little Museum of Dublin nearby at the northern
end of St Stephens Green Park.
Stop 7A. Pearse Street – Stop is located opposite the Trinity City Hotel.

Stop 8. College Green – The Old Parliament House was the original home to the Irish
parliament before the Act of Union of 1800, which dissolved the Irish parliament and
was unified under Westminster. Nearby is Trinity College, Ireland’s first University
and home to the Book of Kells.

Stop 9. Dame Street – if you want to explore Dublin’s nightlife, then the famous Temple
Bar is the place to be!

Stop 10. Cork Hill – Dating back to the 12th century, Dublin Castle has been seat of
government for many centuries. Originally built as a fortification by the Normans, the
fortification was gradually modified over the centuries and eventually turned into a
Georgian styled Palace

Stop 11. Christ Church Place – Dating back to 1030 and founded by the Hiberno –
Norse King of Dublin, Christ Church Cathedral is the centre of medieval Dublin and
was situated near the old Viking settlement of Wood Quay.
Stop 12. Patrick Street – St Patrick’s Cathedral dates back to 1191 and is the National
Cathedral for the Church of Ireland.

Whiskey Distillery.

Stop 13. St James Gate – St. Jame’s Gate Brewery was founded by Arthur Guinness in
1759. By 1886 it was the largest brewery in the world. With a 9,000 year lease, there’s

Stop 14. Royal Hospital – Museum of Modern Art (IMMA)

Stop 15. Old Kilmainham - Discover Kilmainham Gaol which played an iconic part in
the aftermath of the 1916 Rising as many of the rebel leaders perished at this location.

Stop 21. Ormond Quay - The Four Courts date back to 1802 and is an iconic landmark of
Dublin. It was the scene of fierce fighting during the Irish Civil War in 1922 and is still the

Stop 23. O'Connell Street - The GPO (General Post Office) which opened in 1818, is the
headquarters of An Post and is Dublin's main post office. It also served as the headquarters
of the 1916 Rising. You can also visit the GPO Witness History Museum which vividly takes
you back to what life was like during 1916 and the effects it had on Dublin at the time.

Here you can see the statue of Daniel O’Connell, who gained Catholic
Emancipation for Ireland in 1829.
He managed to overthrow the penal laws which denied many rights

Tour Information
Original Tour:
- First Tour departs Stop 1 at 09:00, last tour departs Stop 1 at 18:00
- Buses every 30 minutes from 09:00 to 10:00, every 20 minutes until 16:00, and every 30 minutes until 18:00.
Docklands Tour:
- Departs at 5 past the hour from the 2nd stop on the Original Tour (Called Stop A of Docklands Tour)
- First tour departs at 09:05. Last tour departs at 18:05
Customers must ask Bus Driver for a Ticket for Free Entry to Little Museum
*One child under 15 travels free with each adult. Tickets must be purchased for additional children and Student tickets must be purchased for children 15 years old and over.
*Max 8 child tickets per booking (including FREE). Any addition children per group must hold a student ticket.
Live tours are provided in English only, except for the German Live Tour which operates on Wednesdays Friday's and Saturdays only during the high season
Multi-lingual buses are provided in German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Russian and Irish.
Please look for the sign on the front of the bus.
Starting from the first departure of the day, every bus on the hour features a Live, English Tour. Every second bus, offers a multi-lingual service.

Ring of Kerry Day Tour by Train
- When your train leaves Heuston Rail Station it will travel in a south westerly direction heading for Kerry. Venture through the suburbs of Dublin then through the countryside of Kildare. Then travel through passed the famous racecourse, the Curragh. You will continue through Portlaoise, Thurles, Charleville and arrive then at Mallow Station where there is a change of trains before Killarney. The host will escort you the whole way so no need to worry.
- When you arrive to Killarney Station you will board the coach for the tour of the magnificent Ring of Kerry.
- During the excursion of the Ring of Kerry there are plenty of stops along the way for morning tea, lunch and a stop for photo's. You will be able to see one of Ireland's highest mountain, Carrauntouhil. One of the stops include the Kerry Bog Village Museum where visitors can get insight into what life was like in rural Ireland in the 18th century.
- Depending on the weather when you arrive in Waterville you may be able to see Skellig Islands and this is where Star Wars 'The Force Awakens' was filmed there. Plenty of photo stops will be made and a final stop at the village of Sneem.
- The tour will circle the fabulous MacGillycuddy Reeks and runs through its many passes and valleys along the shores of Dingle and Kenmare Bay.
- You will not forget the picturesque villages like Glenbeigh, Waterville and Sneem. You will return through Ladies View and through the Oakwoods of Killarney's magnificent National Park.
- At the end of the tour will be brought back to where you began the tour at Killarney Rail Station.
- At 5:35pm the train departs Killarney and heads for Dublin and there will be a change of train at Mallow. You will arrive into Dublin Heuston at 9:00pm that night.
